Learn more →Stomach examination with sedation — for heartburn, stomach pain, difficulty swallowing or suspected Helicobacter pylori.
Learn more →Surgical evaluation — Dr Tonninger-Bahadori assesses whether thyroid surgery is appropriate and necessary. The operation itself is performed at Privatklinikum Döbling.
Learn more →Minor surgical procedures (moles, lesions), lactose and fructose intolerance tests as well as iron and vitamin C infusions — the everyday work of a practice.
Learn more →The practice has been led by Dr Katayoun Tonninger-Bahadori since 2016 — Specialist in General and Visceral Surgery, F.E.B.S. and Head of the Endoscopy Section of the Vienna Medical Chamber. Since the start of 2026 it has been run as a group practice together with Dr Nisrin Hamzo-Assad.
“Healing begins, in no small part, with proper information.” That stance shapes the work here — from the first question to follow-up care.
More about the physicians
For the Vienna Medical Chamber's campaign “Darm checken – Leben retten” (“Check your colon — save your life”), Dr. Katayoun Tonninger-Bahadori and producer Andreas Kreimaier received the Felix Burda Award in Berlin in June 2026 — the most renowned award for commitment against colorectal cancer in the German-speaking world. The award was presented by actress and author Barbara Wussow.
The gala at Berlin's Brandenburg Gate was opened by German Federal Minister of Health Nina Warken — among the roughly 300 guests: numerous members of the German Bundestag as well as actors from Uschi Glas to Hans Sigl.
The campaign they initiated encourages people to book a screening colonoscopy, with prominent Austrian voices — from Michael Niavarani and Chris Lohner to Michael Ostrowski. Very much in the spirit of our daily work: the earlier, the better.
